The Lumen Youth Association invites you to a round table in English on January 16, 2025, at the House of Europe, Ul. Augusta Cesarca 4, Zagreb, starting at 2:00 PM, the topic of which will be: "AI FuturEU"

Our Association held a roundtable discussion on the topic of “AI FuturEU” on January 16, 2025 at the House of Europe in Zagreb. This event brought us a deeper discussion about the impact of artificial intelligence on our future.

The new quiz is scheduled for next Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at 8 p.m. at Teatar Bar... we look forward to seeing you!

At the Vinogradska School of Nursing on November 22 and 25, we held a lecture on the topic "Soft skills 1". As part of this topic, we covered the issues of CVs, motivation letters, their importance and how to write them as well as possible. Partners in the implementation of this project are Erste Bank and the Croatian Air Traffic Controllers Association.

November 19th and 20th was the day for the topic "Soft skills". We had a lecture at the Third School of Economics in Zagreb. As part of this topic, we covered the issues of CVs, motivation letters, their importance and how to write them as well as possible. Partners in the implementation of this project are Erste Bank and the Croatian Air Traffic Controllers Association

Development that changes the rules of the game is a project that encompasses the fields of law, mechanical engineering and artificial intelligence while focusing on the accelerated development of artificial intelligence, which is increasingly present in mechanical engineering. However, with this progress comes the need for legal regulation that ensures the ethical and safe use of technologies, balancing innovation with social and legal norms. This integration is changing industry dynamics, technological advancements and the regulatory framework are becoming inextricably linked, shaping our future on a global scale. It is precisely for this reason that we not only refer to a very current topic, but also try to bring the mentioned problem closer to young people.

On May 24, 2024, the Lumen Youth Association held a round table on the topic of Game-Changing Development: Mechanical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and Legal Frameworks at the Press Center in Zagreb.

24.02. it was a day for the theme of "Soft skills"! As part of this topic, we deal with the issues of CVs, motivational letters and their importance and how to write them as well as possible. The students also had the opportunity to solve the tasks in order to experience what the whole process looks like.

28.01. we continued with our lectures. This time the topic was "Financial Literacy". As before, we looked at the topic of taxes and how they work, and the students had the opportunity to participate in the debate.

The new year has started and so we have continued with our projects... both old and new. And while the new ones start, we continue with the already established one - "Scientia". 23.01. We held lectures on "Conflicts, negotiations, presentation" and "Financial literacy - taxes" in the 10th high school. We would like to thank pedagogue Marta Basch, who agreed to cooperate with us, and all the students who attended our workshops. We hope that we have managed to bring these two topics closer to you, and we thank you for all the questions! We are looking forward to all the upcoming lectures!

On Tuesday 27.11. in Zagreb's 1st high school, we held a lecture on the topic of social skills (soft skills). The purpose of the lecture was to explain how to create a high-quality CV and motivation letter as a sure ticket to an interview, and to acquire and perfect knowledge and skills in the field of business etiquette and communication.

TED (skraćeno od Technology, Entertainment, Design) je najpoznatija globalna platforma usmjerena na promociju ideja vrijednih širenja. Započela je 1984. godine kao konferencija na kojoj su se spajale teme tehnologije, zabave i dizajna, a danas pokriva gotovo sve teme – od znanosti do poslovanja i globalnih pitanja. Koncipirana je u obliku inspirativnih i poučnih govora u trajanju do 18 minuta što se prema organizatorima ispostavilo kao dovoljno dugo vremena da bude ozbiljno i dovoljno kratko da zadrži pozornost ljudi. Programi TEDx su lokalni, samostalno pripremljeni i organizirani, događaji prema licenci i pravilima TED-a, a takvi događaji se danas organiziraju u više od 200 zemalja širom svijeta na više od 100 jezika. Prvi TEDx događaj organiziran u Hrvatskoj bio je 2010. godine pod nazivom TEDxZagreb koji je ujedno najstariji i najpopularniji TEDx događaj u Zagrebu. Isti okuplja mnoge intelektualce i entuzijaste usmjerene na promicanje znanosti i društva. Također, jedan od najvažnijih čimbenika ogromne popularnosti TED govora je to što su dostupni online, bilo kada, bilo kome putem službenog TEDx YouTube kanala s ciljem razmjena ideja u zajednicama diljem svijeta te poticanjem na razgovor o važnim temama. Svaku TEDx konferenciju obilježava određena tematika, a ovogodišnje izdanje TEDxZagreb održava se 16. listopada te donosi temu “Ignite the Spark“. Lumenovci i ovog puta prepoznaju važnost ovakvog eventa i svojim dolaskom ističu kako je ovakav tip događanja odličan za upoznavanje novih zanimljivih ljudi.

Our professional colleague from PMF, Fran Ilčić, gave a lecture on how computers work, but in a slightly different way. We started with quantum physics, a topic that sounds scary to many, and perhaps unattractive. In small steps, Fran explained to us what energies exist and what their potentials are, what is actually hidden in the background of the computers we use every day, and what is the logic of circuits.

An illiterate person in the year 2000 is not one who cannot read or write, but one who cannot learn. - This sentence was stated by the famous American futurologist A. Toffler in his book Future Shock already in 1970, predicting what society will be like today. Education is an indispensable part of everyone's life, and it requires us to adapt to different sources of information, which leads to different learning techniques. Our Lucija Rajković, Univ. bacc. psych, she presented the students with some lesser-known mnemonic techniques and told all about the tips for more successful learning that helped her to get to graduate studies. In addition, she explained to them what the SMART goal-setting technique is, which can be applied by pupils, students, and employed people in order to facilitate the planning of business tasks.

13.11. as part of the Scientia project in the First Gymnasium, we held a lecture on what negotiations are, and we also practiced presentation skills. Due to the increasing presence of technology in our lives, from early school days students must learn how to master certain presentation techniques - from performing to making the presentation itself, which can include statistical data, graphs, videos and much more. What are the parts and how does the process of creating a quality presentation and how to relate to the audience are just some of the topics we covered in today's lecture.

16 and 17.10. in the first grammar school in Zagreb, we held lectures on the topic of Political and Financial Literacy, which are part of the "Scientia" project.

Membership in the Association is for one year, and is based on your good will and desire to work on new projects. At the end of the year, you will receive a certificate as confirmation of your membership, which you can later use as a good addition to your resume

Dear students and everyone who feels this way, we invite you to the lecture "Computer networks and Internet security". The lecture will be held by our respected member and technical support expert of the Association, Davor Ostrichon, who is also an employee of the company Tomsoft doo and a student of systems engineering. He will introduce you to a different side of the Internet and show you how it works "under the hood". You will also learn about all the dangers that threaten the Internet and what steps to take if you want to protect yourself further. The lecture will be held on August 14, 2023, in the local community of Zapruđe (Meštrovićev trg 1g), starting at 6 p.m. We are looking forward to your arrival! Lumen Youth Association

A few members of the Association, with the aim of helping others, gathered to donate their blood and help those in need.

The sustainability festival, better known as the Greencajt festival, will also be held this year at the end of May, on May 24 and 25, to be exact, in the Stara tvornica lampa in Zagreb. The festival will bring together domestic and foreign speakers and key figures from different fields who will try to answer the question: how to create an environment for a sustainable future? The program with 30 panels and lectures, more than 80 speakers and panelists from as many as 10 countries will try to answer key questions from the ESG (Enviromental, Social and Corporate governance) field. The official opening of the festival begins on Wednesday, May 24. at 9:30, and panels and discussions will last the whole day. This year we will be entertained by Gibonni, Konstrakt and Zemlja Gruva and the film The winter I knew directed by Riku Karjalainen. Towards the end of the second day, the Green Prix award ceremony will take place. Environmental awards will be awarded in 7 categories (Green Campaign, Green Innovation, Impact on the Community, Think Globally Act Locally, The World Remains on Young People, Green Startup and Green Leader). In a very short time, the Green Prix has become the most prestigious award in Croatia that promotes sustainability as the most important determinant in the activities of any organization or individual. The LEAP Summit is an event that aims to educate and inspire innovators, entrepreneurs, leaders and changemakers. It is a multidisciplinary conference that over the years has influenced more than 10,000 people from more than 40 countries. LEAP Summit 2023 will be held in Zagreb on May 18 and 19, and has 4 stages – LEAP Stage, Ideas & Tech Stage, Green Stage and Impact Stage. The youth association "Lumen" and its members welcome this event and recommend it to everyone who wants to enrich their knowledge and gain new experiences. We booked our tickets as a team. Maybe we'll meet somewhere in the auditorium.

2.2.2023. a session of the founding assembly of the Lumen Youth Association was held in the presence of 6 of its members. With this session, the journey of the Association itself officially begins... to become something that young people will benefit from, while also learning something, but also having fun!
